With young people being priced out of the housing market, why not live in the now and go big on that delicious smashed avocado? That's exactly the question we've been asking ourselves. If you are going to spend your home deposit on smashed avocados and live your life to the fullest, you need to "spread it on thick". Whilst the latest report from the Grattan Institute shows that young people's spending on luxuries has actually decreased since 2010, there's still a pretty slim chance you're getting into the housing market anytime soon thanks to an ageing population and a lack of wage increases.
