Workshop | Cronulla Jazz & Blues Festival

Calling all musicians! Join local brass collective, Hot Potato Band for an exciting musical workshop & street performance at the upcoming Cronulla Jazz and Blues Festival. If you are in Primary or High School, learning a musical instrument at any level, this event is for you! 

All participants will partake in a collaborative 60 minute workshop to learn and prepare music to later perform in a unique street performance that will transform Cronulla Mall into New Orleans. With a focus on having fun whilst playing music, this one-off workshop and performance opportunity is open to all students between the ages of 9 and 18 who are learning a musical instrument. 

All registered participants will be provided with a music pack containing sheet music & resources in preparation for the workshop & performance. 

Through choreographed movement, dancing and singing, students will experience the infectious energy and fun of making music as they perform alongside the HPB team.

THE WORKSHOP at Cronulla RSL

• Vocalists are welcome. 
• Please ensure that you are able to carry and play your instrument.
• Students with large or heavy instruments should consider downsizing or using straps/harnesses. 
• Marching drums can be provided for drummers upon request.

THE PERFORMANCE at Cronulla Mall

9:30am - Arrival

* Students to be dropped off at Cronulla RSL and met by a HPB team member.

* Assemble instruments, warm up & connect with fellow musicians.

10:00am - Workshop begins

11:00am - Workshop ends & Questions

11:30am - Walk to Performance starting point

12:00pm - Performance Begins 

* The performance will take place between 'The Banc' building and the northern Cronulla Mall stage (outside Boost Juice).

12:20pm - Performance Ends

* Ending at The Banc before returning to Cronulla RSL

12:30pm - Student Pick Up from Cronulla RSL

* Students to pack up their instruments and be collected by parent/guardian at Cronulla RSL.

COST

$55.00 per student

* Cost includes the workshop and performance + a digital information pack with learning resources and sheet music.

* BYO instrument.

* Limited spots available.
