We've dedicated time to create an engaging parade workshop that complements jazz festivals. Following our successful debut at the Cronulla Jazz & Blues Festival in June 2023, we're thrilled to announce our second parade workshop taking place during the Manly Jazz Festival on Sunday, September 24th in Sydney.
Hot Potato Band are recruiting musicians between the ages of 9 and 18 to join them in performing at the upcoming Manly Jazz Festival. All participants will partake in a collaborative 60 minute workshop to learn and prepare a classic street tune to later perform in a street parade that will momentarily transform Manly Corso into the french quarter of New Orleans.
With a focus on having fun whilst playing music, this one-off workshop and performance opportunity is open to all Primary and High School students who are learning a musical instrument. All registered participants will be provided with a music pack containing sheet music and resources in preparation for the performance.
Through choreographed movement, dancing and singing, students will experience the infectious energy and fun of making music as they perform alongside the HPB team. If you or someone you know is interested in joining the workshop, please learn more here.
